Thriving Life Church Carol Service

Paint me, Glaze me!

The ladies of the church enjoyed a fun evening at Paint me, Glaze me in Bangor on Tueday 4th December. Although it was all supposed to be a bit of fun - the concentration was great and the competition was stiff! The range of Christmas items was great - snowmen, Santa plates and even some angels! Leave your comments to vote for the winning piece!

Precept Upon Precept

Precept kicked off again this year in the Fire Safety building beside the fire station (quite ironic since our building was burnt down!).

This year we are going to be studying the sermon on the mount over 11 months. May Green lead the first meeting. It was a very interesting introduction to what seems to be a very compelling and challenging study.

Anyone who wishes to join the group please leave a comment below and we will get back to you with the details. Precept will be held on the second Wednesday of every month, venue to be confirmed (watch this space)!

TODDLERS

Toddlers went ahead as planned on Tuesday morning!

What an encouragement after the fire... 11 adults and 9 children turned up to join in with the fun, not including the people already connected to the church. We started at 10.30am and finished shortly after twelve. It was a great morning which happened thanks to all those people who so kindly donated and bought new toys. Melissa and I were so greatful to and comforted by everyone who displayed their immense generosity.

We want to raise a prayer of thanks to God- tuesday morning was a great success and we pray that God will use the circumstances as a means of even more people hearing about toddlers. ( one or two of the ladies had heard about Toddlers on the news)!

Here are some pictures from the morning- there will also be an article in The Newtownards Chronicle this week discussing the fire and also the success of toddlers despite peoples attempts to damage and destroy.

CHURCH FIRE

This morning we arrived at church and were devasted to see that the portacabin which we all worked so hard to finish and prepare for the church childrens activities had been destroyed by a fire.

The fire appears to have been started by vandals and occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning. Although this is a great tragedy, we WILL be running all the church activites as planned for the autumn.

Toddlers, our new activity for tots and their carers, will take place as planned this Tuesday morning (September 11th) in the Scout Hall at 10.30am.

Please pray that God will bring some good out of this terrible situation, as we continue to show the love of God to the Ards community.

Our last precept meeting this term!

Lilian Allen has kindly been taking precept ministries with a group from the church for the past 4 months. We had been meeting one Wednesday a month. Last Wednesday completed our study on Joseph- keeping your focus when your dreams are shattered. It was a very interesting and challenging study giving the group a lot to think about!

Our final meeting was at Bobby and Helens house where we had a BBQ despite the rain. A great night was had by all and we are looking forward to the next study which will last for 10 months starting in Septmber. If you would like any information on the next study or Thriving life Church please do not hesitate to contact Ricknkate@hotmail.com and we would be happy to answer any questions.

Below are some pictures from the final night!

Worship small group- our first social night

Thriving Life Church has a worship small group of 8 people. We meet every Tuesday night in Rick and Katies house to study what the Bible teaches about praise and worship and how we can best use our gifts in Thriving Life Church.
We have been meeting for 5 weeks. As a group we decided to get to know one another better by having a social night every 4 weeks. Due to the weather being so good recently our first social night took us to the Pirates crazy Golf in Dundonald.
A great night was had by all.

Here are some more pics below.

Last Sunday was our first dedication service as a church. Little Reuben Allen was dedicated to God.
It was a great service and everyone who attended enjoyed lunch and fellowship together afterwards.
